Giovanna was sooooo excited about her first day of school. She looked amazingly darling in her uniform. It was hard not to pick her up and cuddle her like I used to do when she was a baby. I love being her mom…I just wish she wasn’t growing up so fast!
I have been so busy the past few weeks. Summer is winding down and my oldest is starting Kindergarten. I am trying to savor every last moment before she goes because I know that soon after she begins school the baby in her will be replaced by the little girl and she won’t need me as much as she does now. Of course I am freaking out about that (and driving my husband crazy)! Giovanna is oblivious to my self-imposed drama and is very excited about school. We have been going to meet the teacher/student events and she loves her new teachers and her new classroom. Monday is our last orientation before the BIG DAY on Wednesday. I will be sure to post some photos of G in her snazzy school uniform.

That’s right– FIVE brothers, FIVE boys, FIVE sweet young men (and a couple of firecrackers, too!) This was a first for me. I ’ve had the privilege of photographing seven adult sisters before but never five boys. I am such a mom to girls and it was very evident. I was so nervous that the youngest, Luke , was going to fall in the water. (He didn’t!)
The weather was hot and it was a little diffficult having all five sit still, keep their eyes open and smile, but they were troopers…I think the bribe of ice cream at Sonic was a huge help. Thanks Mom and Dad– and kudos to you on your handsome high five!
