First Bike Ride
The weather was great and Daddy was not out of town this weekend so we made our way out to the sidewalk to experience Arianna’s first bike ride. She had a little difficulty with those strange things called “pedals” but Daddy was very patient and all went well. (Excitement can be tiring and she is crashed on the couch for a late afternoon nap.)
Our new winter retreat
Having been married in the Virgin Islands, they will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Last November, we renewed our vows on the beach where we first said “I do.” Our daughters absolutely loved the ocean water and we share their enthusiasm since my husband and I both prefer the sun and sand over anything else. So, I guess it was just a matter of time before we looked in to having a place to call home each winter when we visit. We feel very fortunate to be able to start a family tradition that involves something (and someplace) that holds such sentimental value to us.
Oh, how I would love to be a photographer on the islands!
The angel gets a hair cut.
My smallest angel had her locks cut today. Five and a half inches! I have been wanting it shorter for the past year but she refused to cut it. This past Monday her older sister got her hair cut so now it is OK to do the same– monkey see, monkey do. She looks so darling with it shorter. I’m sure once big sister sees this photo she will make me post one of her as well. Stay tuned~!
Another collage…
I hear that it is going to get cold and possibly snow tomorrow. This made me get out my Thanksgiving photos and make a collage to remember our warm and sunny days on the beach not so long ago. These were taken with my new little Nikon point and shoot. I think they came out pretty good, considering. Of course, having a back drop like Trunk Bay really helps!
“Speak, O Lord”
Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
To receive the food of Your Holy Word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,
That the light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory.
Teach us, Lord, full obedience,
Holy reverence, true humility;
Test our thoughts and our attitudes
In the radiance of Your purity.
Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
Your majestic love and authority.
Words of pow’r that can never fail—
Let their truth prevail over unbelief.
Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us—
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
That will echo down through eternity.
And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises,
And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built
And the earth is filled with Your glory.
